How It All Started
The Hub Laidback Hostel didn't start with a business plan. It started with a feeling — that pull you get when you walk into a place, drop your backpack, and immediately know you've found your people. We wanted to build that feeling from the ground up, right in the heart of Ao Nang.
We're travellers ourselves. We know exactly what matters after a long bus or a day on the islands: a clean, cool bed you can actually sleep in, a safe locker for your passport, fast Wi-Fi, a good shower, and somewhere easy to meet other people who are up for an adventure tomorrow.
So that's what The Hub Laidback Hostel is — clean, air-conditioned 4-bed dorms with en-suite bathrooms, a relaxed common space, and our own licensed weed shop & vegetarian café right downstairs. All five minutes' walk from Ao Nang Beach and the longtail boats to Railay and the islands.
What opened as a small hostel quickly became a gathering point. Solo travellers found travel buddies. Strangers became friends over island-hopping plans. Somewhere along the way, The Hub stopped being just a place to sleep and became a place people come back to. That's exactly how we like it.

Social by Design
We built The Hub so it's easy to meet people. The common space, the shared plans, the "where are you headed tomorrow?" — that's the whole point of a hostel, and we lean into it.
Clean & Safe
Air-conditioned dorms, fresh bedding, en-suite bathrooms and a personal locker for every bed. The basics done properly are what actually make a stay good.
Best Location
Five minutes on foot to Ao Nang Beach, restaurants, the night market and boats to Railay. You spend less time in transit and more time on the islands.

The Dorms
Clean, air-conditioned 4-bed dorms (bunk or single beds) with en-suite bathrooms — each bed with a curtain, reading light, power socket and a locker.
The Common Space
A relaxed lounge to meet other travellers, swap Krabi tips, plan a boat trip or just chill with the air-con on after a day in the sun.
The Weed Shop
On site: The Hub weed shop & vegetarian café — quality cannabis strains, brunch, coffee and a mural-painted chill lounge, right downstairs (20+, Thai law).
